Why she left the website builder
Website builders sell convenience, and for a lot of businesses they're a fine place to start. But there's a pattern we see over and over: an owner spends a weekend wrestling a template, settles for "close enough," and then pays monthly rent on the compromise. The bill arrives whether the site brings in customers or not. And when she wants the site to actually match her brand, the colors, the fonts, the feel, the template says no.
Amanda had all of it. A clunky editor. A site that never quite looked like her business. A monthly charge for the privilege.
What the rebuild looked like
We started with her brand, not a template. Her grooming trailer is her billboard, so we sampled the palette straight from it and matched the typefaces to her trailer lettering. Then we built five fast, simple pages: home, services with real starting prices, her story, a gallery of her grooms, and contact.
Two details we're proud of:
- Leads can't get stranded. A contact form that fails quietly doesn't just lose a message, it loses a customer, because the customer doesn't try again. They call somebody else. Her form has spam protection with no annoying CAPTCHA, and if anything ever breaks, the visitor lands on a page with one giant button: tap to call. The lead always has a way in.
- The site stays fresh on its own. Her latest Facebook posts appear right on the homepage, so the site shows current work without her touching it.
The part nobody sees
The new site scores perfect 100s on Google's PageSpeed checks, on phones and desktops, and carries an A+ security grade. Her old platform couldn't get close on either. That matters more than bragging rights: speed is a ranking factor, and most of her customers find her on a phone.
Every site we ship passes the same gate before it goes live: top marks on speed and an all-green security grade. No exceptions, including for family.
Full disclosure
Amanda is my wife. Fresh Start Grooming is the family business, which means this was the one client I absolutely could not disappoint. It also means you can see exactly how we work when nobody's watching: same process, same launch gate, same standards we hold for every client site.
The math
$27 a month is $324 a year, forever, for a website that fights you. The rebuild pays for itself in hosting savings alone, and she owns the result. No template. No rent. No landlord.
Judge it yourself: the site is live at freshstartgrooming.com.
